Day 11

Christian Organizations in the Community

So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Galatians 6:10

Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.

Matthew 5:15

As followers of Christ, we are entrusted with the sacred responsibility of being beacons of light in a world shadowed by pain and longing for hope. Our divine calling is to embody God's love and goodness, ministering to communities of people who yearn for healing and hope. While local churches diligently organize and minister to these needs, our community in Wise County is also abundantly blessed with Christian organizations.

These Christian organizations, striving to embody the compassion of Jesus, are not merely a handful of volunteers within an organization; they are dynamic expressions of the Church in action. While their existence should never displace the role of the local church in ministering to the community, these organizations offer platforms for Christians to “do good to everyone” while they utilize the unique gifts bestowed upon them by the Holy Spirit.

We must understand that as those who have trusted in Christ, we are the Church, and the church's impact is an extension of our collective efforts, regardless of where or how we serve. As believers, we have been sanctified for a divine purpose.

Application: Let us earnestly pray for God to open doors beyond the church walls, allowing our Christian service to radiate His love. May our faith manifest in tangible acts of service, bringing glory to the name of the Lord. In our prayers, let us intercede for the Christian organizations in our community. May the Holy Spirit move among them, multiplying their impact, and may all their endeavors glorify our Father in Heaven.
