First Baptist Decatur is a church for all generations.

We are a church for all generations, all stages of life, and always love meeting new people! Come Sunday mornings, there are a few things you can expect find. We offer bible study groups for people of all ages, a well balanced worship service of contemporary/traditional music, and even free coffee! Our sermons are practical, but rooted in biblical truth to inspire and inform. No matter where you find yourself, we would love to help you find that First Baptist Church is a great place to call home.

We understand that visiting a new church can be intimidating, but we want you to know that we are here to help you feel comfortable and at ease. If you are a first time guest, please check out our Welcome Desk Sunday morning located in the worship center foyer.

WHERE TO START

  • Groups that get together every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. where community is formed and truth is spoken. No matter what stage of life you are in, we offer groups for everyone.

  • Join us at 10:15 AM every Sunday morning for worship, a sermon, and some incredible conversation. Don’t worry about a dress code, just come as you are!

  • If you are looking for a more intimate worship experience, join us at 5:30 PM every Sunday evening.

  • If you have a kiddo from birth to 6th grade, we have kids’ classes in our Basecamp Building. Check your babies and toddlers in before the Sunday morning worship service, and bring your older kids to service with you. Then we have a special kids service that starts at 10:45 AM. The kids are released during Sunday morning service. We also have Wednesday nights from 6-7:30 PM during the school year as well.

  • If you have an older child (7th - 12th grade) looking to get involved, we have two options. We offer student Bible Studies at 9:00 AM every Sunday and a Wednesday night service at 6:15 PM throughout the school year.

FAQs

  • You can wear your Sunday best or you can come as casual as you want. There’s no dress code.

  • Anywhere you’d like. But, if you have children to check in or just attending the worship service for the first time, we suggest you park in front of the main building (that’s the building with the columns and large steeple). The children’s building has its own entrance to the right of the main building.

  • Our worship team offers a blend of contemporary music and classic hymns. We have a full band and a choir.

  • Not at all, but we do recommend getting plugged-in with a bible study. We believe that bible studies allow for a deeper, more intimate dive into God’s word. They also offer a great opportunity to connect with people in your same stage of life.
