Peru MIssion Trip

June 13-21, 2025

Our Peru Mission Team is preparing to serve June 13–21. This team will be traveling from Decatur to Iquitos, Peru, where they will partner with local churches to share the gospel, provide medical clinics, conduct Vacation Bible School, offer men’s and women’s Bible studies, and serve through sports outreach and community ministry.

How You Can Pray:

  • Travel: Pray for safe flights, smooth connections, and protection throughout their journey.

  • Health: Pray for good health, stamina, and protection from illness or injury during long days of ministry.

  • Unity: Pray for the team to serve with one heart and one mind as they partner with our brothers and sisters in Peru.

  • Ministry: Pray that the gospel will be clearly proclaimed, that lives would be touched and transformed, and that the local church would be strengthened.

  • Wisdom & Flexibility: Pray for wisdom as the team navigates schedules, weather, and unexpected changes.

  • Spiritual Impact: Pray for the Holy Spirit to move powerfully during the medical clinics, Bible studies, VBS, worship services, and personal conversations.

Child Dedication

Child Dedication

First Baptist Decatur believes children are a gift from God. We are excited you are interested in dedicating your child. The purpose of child dedication is to present your child before God and the church, commit to seeking God’s wisdom as you carry out your responsibilities, raising your child for His purpose with love and grace.

We believe Psalm 127:3, which says, “Children are a heritage from the Lord.” Children are God’s gift and blessing; child dedication is a time to celebrate and thank God for your gift. You are committing to modeling what following Jesus looks like, to raise your child to understand salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, to believe the Bible is absolute Truth, and to know the importance of being in a community of faith through the local church.

Falls Creek Retreat

The North Texas Easter Retreat exists to bring teens closer to Jesus Christ. It's a great way for your teens to hear the Gospel, grow closer to Jesus, and be invested in it!

The retreat is held each year at the Falls Creek Conference Center in Davis, OK, on Easter weekend. We begin on Thursday night and continue through lunchtime on Saturday to give you time to return home to celebrate Resurrection Sunday with your church family.

Throughout the retreat, your teens will worship with an additional 1,000+ teenagers from churches all over North Texas. They will hear sermons from the Bible that challenge and encourage them in their everyday walk. On Friday afternoon, they can participate in our recreation activities, which include a zip line, ropes course, and individual and team sports (flag football, volleyball, 1-mile fun run, softball, and basketball shoot-out, to name a few). They can also swim in a natural spring pool and check out the famous Falls Creek Gum Tree.
