An update from our Search Committee (May 2026)

Greetings,

We are pleased to provide an initial update regarding our progress and next steps in the search for a new Children’s Minister.

Our voting members include Jarred Barnard, Suzette Jones, Adrian Swift, Lacy Maddox, Bonnie Hubbard, Gail Jones (Personnel Committee), and Colby Williams (Finance Committee). Our alternates are Ashley Campbell, Lori Sherwood, and Natalie Rolland.

At our first meeting, we introduced ourselves, elected officers, organized the search process, and most importantly, spent time in prayer seeking God’s guidance. During our second meeting, Aaron Summers of the BGCT provided valuable insight and a helpful presentation outlining the search process and best practices.

We are currently working with Aaron to update our church profile and job description. Once these materials are finalized, we will begin posting the position.

We invite you to partner with us by completing the linked questionnaire regarding your expectations for our next Children’s Minister. Your input is important to this process.

Ongoing prayer

  • Pray for Our Children’s Ministry:
    Ask God to keep our Children’s Ministry unified, strong, and focused on raising Christ-centered children during this season. Pray that our church family, as a whole, remains faithful in ministry, evangelism, and service as we wait on the Lord’s timing.

    Pray for the Children’s Minister Search Committee:
    Pray for wisdom, unity, and discernment as they seek the person God is calling to lead our children’s ministry. Ask for protection from discouragement or criticism, and for clarity in every decision.

    Pray for Our Next Children’s Minister and His or Her Family:
    Though we don’t yet know them, God does. Pray for their preparation, peace, and boldness to follow God’s call. Ask for protection over their marriage and family as they prepare to join our church and community.

  • The Children’s Minister Search Committee is a group of church members prayerfully selected to seek, evaluate, and recommend a candidate to serve as the next pastor of the church.
    The committee consists of the following:
