LifeStages: First Baptist Church Decatur has intentionally designed each Bible Study to meet people’s needs based on where they currently are in life. We understand that life is dynamic, and each stage presents new challenges. Our group members understand because they are right there with you! Check out one of our groups; if it’s not the “right fit” for you, please feel free to be our guest in another group. We have a place for you!

Whether you are right out of high school or college, single, engaged, or recently married, these can be some of the most exciting days of your life. LifeStage 1 Sunday Morning Bible Studies offer you the opportunity to navigate these “adulting” years with others who are right where you are. Come grow in your spiritual journey with this young adult community as you discover God’s plan and purpose for your future.

Our LifeStage 2 Sunday Morning Bible Studies offer support, encouragement, and resources to help you navigate these foundational years. Whether you're looking for guidance, connection, or simply a place to share life with other parents, we’re here to walk alongside you as you build a strong spiritual foundation for your family.

Life can seem highly accelerated when your kids are in junior high, high school, and college. Helping them to grow and discover God’s plan for their lives takes intentionality and prayer while you stay spiritually connected to God. LifeStage 3 Sunday Morning Bible Studies offer a place for you to rest and grow in His Word, pray for your children and one another, and walk through some of these most enjoyable, challenging, and formidable years together. We want you to know that you are not alone and that staying connected to God, His Word, and others is essential.

Maturing in Christ continues even after the kids are out of the house, grandchildren have become a recent joy, or life as a retiree has become the new norm. LifeStage 4 Sunday Morning Bible Studies continue to grow and equip middle and senior-aged adults in their faith journey. Some of your most fruitful joys and blessings as a Believer happen at this stage of life, where relationships and life can be enjoyed together.

As a multi-generational church, we grow and learn from decades of experiences, gleaning wisdom, knowledge, and insight from one another – both young and old. LifeStage 5 Sunday Morning Bible Studies allow us to share stories about what God has done in the past so that we may receive hope, guidance, and encouragement for the future. Our multi-generational classes are designed to share life as we grow together in Christ.
Our kids and youth are broken into groups by age and grade. Check them into the kids or youth building, and someone will help you get them to their class.

The Way
For singles and couples who seek to grow together as they explore the Scriptures. Through thoughtful Bible study and engaging discussions, participants deepen their understanding of God's Word, build meaningful relationships, and discover practical ways to apply biblical truths to their daily lives.

Sisters of Strength
For women of all ages looking for a place to belong. This class dives into Bible Studies that show just how powerful God really is. Through meaningful discussions and shared experiences, participants are encouraged to grow spiritually and build lasting connections.

Seekers
For both couples and singles, with and without children this class is a group of people coming together to seek His guidance in their lives. With lots of coffee, fellowship and studying God’s word they enjoy living life together.

Hogan’s Class
For those with current high school and college students, empty nesters, and those who are experiencing the joy of being grandparents, this group of believers is engaging in the Word, applying it to their lives, and building their relationship with God and one another. They share life together, celebrating victories and ministering to the needs of both those inside and outside of their circle.
